PARAMEDICAL TREATMENTS
Nipple and Areola Reconstruction
This is the only treatment that can restore colour for patients following breast cancer. By colour matching and correct placing we can create an areola giving a natural look and even 3d effect to simulate a nipple. This procedure is often at the end of a difficult journey and promotes self image and acceptance.
Scar Camouflage
Generally a year after a scar has healed pigments can be used to match the skin colour around the scar. This can only be done on white scars. Lumpy or tight scars can be relaxed giving a client more movement. Dry needling into scars can activate the body to repair by sending collagen into the area and also cause the scar to flatten, this can also be used on wrinkles as the collagen is plumped.
Burns
Once burnt skin has healed or after a year on from a skin graft camouflage pigments can be used to help the appearance or needling to flatten scars and increase movement and flexibility. If scars are on the face, facial features can be re-created.
Vitiligio
In some cases it is possible to use pigments to re-pigment the area and match the skin tone.
Tattoo Removal
Over recent years there has been an increase in the number of tattoo procedures being carried out, some people are unhappy with the results. Tattoo removal can be carried out, this also applies to poorly applied semi permanent make up carried out by less able technicians. A number of sessions will be needed but it is dependent on the size, colour and depth of the original tattoo.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does it last?
All procedures take two appointments, the first when the treatment is carried out followed by a top up 2-4 weeks later (this can be longer but must be within the first 12 weeks after the first treatment).
Usually the semi permanent make up (brows, eyeliner and lips) last 2-5 years but it is advised that there are regular top ups every 12-18 months, this is one appointment and costs half the price of the initial treatment.
Does it hurt?
The answer is usually no. Pain thresholds vary but as well use very strong topical anaesthetic creams most clients feel nothing or a slight sensation or find it tickly!
Is the procedure safe?
The answer to this is YES providing the treatment is carried out by a highly trained, fully qualified person following health and safety procedures in a clinical environment using all disposable items. If this is not the case the following could occur;
- Uneven application resulting in poor colour and shape
- Infection due to poor hygiene conditions
- Wrong and unnatural colours used
- Badly carried out procedures causing colour bleed and poor shape
SEMI PERMANENT AFTERCARE
You may resume normal activities straight after treatment, clients often go back to work or out the same evening.
There could be some slight swelling or redness but this is normal and goes quickly.
The treated area will always look darker until the colour has healed into the skin which is from 3-7 days, eyeliner is quickest to heal.
Vaseline is to be applied morning and evening whilst the area is healing.
Some activities such as having saunas and swimming need to be avoided whilst healing.
Full aftercare instructions are given to every client post procedure and top ups.
